So June has come and gone and we are officially over 6 months into the year.
Its been an interesting year thus far and I can firmly remember New Years Eve. But, we are looking forward and planning for NYE 2009.
The trends in music have changed quite drastically since we started the year in January, and now the more prominent Popular music being represented in clubs has begun to take more of a UK homegrown focus. With Donaeo doing very well within all sectors including some incredible results on airplay across all genre radio stations as well.
My own focus has shifted a little, and I have now started looking at more of our homegrown talent.
Expressing my wishes, I want to work with some UK Talent, so any singers or MC's, if you have that RAW URBANESQUE sound, I want to hear from you.
Well, the poll has finished as well, and it looks like the nation has spoken.
You dont need to put a record out into the market to become a more successfull dj, although......
does it help??
I think it does in this day and age, with the ranks of Dj's nationwide resorting to releasing albums, with tracks that have been "sourced" from a variety of sources. Of course, all is fair in love and war this is a proven way to move your career forward.
Hopefully I can stay true to the game and not have to put out a concocted "commercial" product to be recognised as a Industry Leader.
Moving on from my USUAL rants, Mumzy is launching his single this month on the 20th June via i-Tunes, so log on and support the cause, it has been 5 years since we represented in the main streams charts with the likes of Jay Sean and Raghav.
Mumzy gives us a real chance to achieve main stream success once again. Of course Jay is still holding firm in the charts and more so with his latest Distribution deal with Cash Money Records (Lil Wayne's Record label), and behind Mumzy are the likes of Zeekay and Navin Kundra who can individually put up a very good fight to be Prince's of the pop Charts!

This month,
No Polls, but, a promise.........
